White House Announces Ban on Entry to the United States for Individuals From Certain Countries:
Late Friday President Trump signed an Executive Order (EO) which, among other things, bans travel to the US for the next 90 days for individuals from Libya, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Syria and Sudan. Given this development, we strongly recommend anyone born and/or now holding citizenship in these countries not travel outside the US for the foreseeable future. This recommendation includes travel to Canada. We are closely monitoring this situation.
ISS just developed a new website where we will post updates on this travel related topic and other immigration related updates: http://www.iss.purdue.edu/ImmigrationChanges/
The NAFSA Association for International Educators has published a Travel Advisory for Nationals of Certain Countries Pursuant to Executive Order, which includes many helpful resources. This Travel Advisory can be found here.
New Immigration Fees:
USCIS will increase fees effective 12/23/2016. All applications and petitions postmarked or filed on or after Dec 23, 2016 must include the new fees, or USCIS will reject the application. Please see https://www.uscis.gov/forms/our-fees for more information.
