The J-1 Visa Exchange Visitor Program is a program supervised and implemented by the US Department of State (DOS).

As a program sponsor Purdue University is able to bring professors, research scholars, short term scholars, and specialists from around the world to engage in educational activities. In a given calendar year more than 300 visitors come to Purdue on this program to help the University meet its teaching, research and service mission.
