Educational Exchange Program
- Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Educational Exchange Program?
The Educational Exchange Program (EEP) is offered through the Office of International Students and Scholar's GO Purdue initiative. This program seeks to increase international understanding to the Greater Lafayette community by bringing Purdue University international students, scholars and spouses into local schools and community organizations to share about their home countries and cultures.

Who are the Presenters for EEP?
Most of our presenters are international students, scholars and their spouses. Purdue University has one of the largest international student populations in the country with over 6,000 students from over 126 countries. International students, scholars and spouses are natives of other countries with unique cultures different from our own. Because of their abilities, hard work, and, perhaps, station in life, they are a small, privileged group who have the opportunity to travel abroad, study and work here in the United States.

International students and scholars come to Purdue mainly for academic reasons. In addition, they are interested in sharing about their home countres and cultures as well as learning about the American way of life. Understandably, much of what we know about other cultures is influenced by what we see in the media. Through EEP, students, scholars, children and adults are able to gain a greater appreciation and understanding of the cultures that make up our world today. There really is no better way to understand another culture than by getting an insider's perspective! This kind of cultural exchange happens through EEP.
