General Information
There is no typical host. Families with and without children, single parent families and individuals participate in this program. Participants come from all walks of life and have diverse interests.
Participation does not require any set amount of time. What develops after student assignment depends on the mutual interests and convenience of both parties. However, it is recommended that families and students attempt to meet once a month, on the average. Incidentally, major holiday celebrations are generally of interest to many international students.
Participants have no legal, financial or housing obligations to their international student friends.
The International Friendship Program is organized and implemented by the Office of International Students & Scholars (ISS).
