Perspectives
International students are encouraged to share their perspective on a variety of topics Friday afternoons at 4:30 p.m. over free pizza or a light meal. This informal, end-of-the-week class is a chance to make new friends and explore a variety of topics from events in the media, cultural values or adjusting to life in the U.S. We meet in different locations across campus and occasionally enjoy trips into the community to tour the newspaper or see an orchard. We learn about and celebrate American holidays, too. It’s a great way to meet other students and scholars from all over the world in a relaxed setting.
Designed as an ongoing orientation program, Perspectives makes Purdue a little smaller place through discussion, fun, and learning from each other and from guest speakers who are invited to share their expertise. Upcoming topics are posted on the ISS calendar as activities are planned throughout the year. For weekly announcements of meeting locations, you must be on the list serve. Contact Nancy Montague in ISS at nancym@purdue.edu to add your name to the list.
