Practical Training is a benefit of the F-1 Student Visa program. Practical Training requires formal off-campus employment authorization and is intended to be temporary. Any authorized off-campus employment pursuant to the practical training benefit of the F-1 student program must be directly related to the student's field of study and enhance the overall academic objective of the student's degree program. Practical Training is not intended to be a pathway to permanent employment or legal permanent residence in the United States.
